Eat-for-Your-Life-cover--240x320

This publication differs from your average cookbook; it has been written from the heart and is the result of three years of research and writing.

The book was inspired by the love of chef Alison Taate’s younger sister Laura, whose battle with breast cancer started an incredibly detailed line of research into using food as medicine. The sisters travelled to Mexico to visit a specialist cancer treatment centre, where the treatment involved an incredibly strict diet.

This diet became the cornerstone of Eat for Your Life

A chronicle of Laura’s journey and celebration of her return to good health, the book is packed with more than 200 recipes and images. It includes nutritional information and tips and hints to eat for health. It also has chapters on eating prescriptively to fight other chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood cholesterol – all of which various members of Alison’s family have experienced.

The book details the best foods to eat for a range of diseases, from cancer to multiple sclorosis to stress. It debunks food myths and is full of delicious, easy to follow recipes to help you take in the nutrients that are right for your body and your health.

“As a chef, I had to completely rethink my approach to food. We’ve been through such an incredible experience where healthy eating has contributed to my sister’s recovery.”

“Eat for your Life is my way of sharing that newfound knowledge with others. The book was written not just for Laura, but for all those who suffer ill health – as health should be our number one priority.”
